Zander Sterling Becomes Member of U.S. Department of Commerce’s Privacy Shield Program
As a demonstration of Zander Sterling’s unwavering commitment to data privacy and security, we are pleased to announce that Zander Sterling, LLC is a voluntary member of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks. As a result, Zander Sterling meets the requirements set forth by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, “these Frameworks were designed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the European Commission and Swiss Administration to provide companies on both sides of the Atlantic with a mechanism to comply with data protection requirements when transferring personal data from the European Union and Switzerland to the United States in support of transatlantic commerce”.
“While no system of safeguards is full-proof, we believe adherence with the Privacy Shield Principles will create a win-win-win situation”, said Chris Cornelius, President. “Our clients, the persons with whom we need to share data and our firm will all benefit. We firmly believe this. Accordingly, we will be voluntarily extending our rigorous data protection and privacy practices to all of our client and supplier relationships, not just those covered within the scope of the EU’s GDPR”.
